The AGO1 protein is critical for RNA-mediated gene silencing (RNAi) by binding to short RNAs such as microRNAs (miRNAs) or short interfering RNAs (siRNAs) and inhibiting the translation of complementary mRNAs.Despite lacking endonuclease activity, AGO1 does not cleave target mRNA.AGO1 Protein, Human (sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived AGO1 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-His labeled tag.
