Antibiotic susceptibility test (AST)抗生素药敏试验

Antibiotic susceptibility test (AST) is the measurement of the susceptibility of bacteria to antibiotics.ASThas been needed since the discovery of the beta-lactam antibiotic penicillin. The test results can allow a clinician to change the choice of antibiotics from empiric therapy, which is when an antibiotic is selected based on clinical suspicion about the site of an infection and common causative bacteria, to directed therapy, in which the choice of antibiotic is based on knowledge of the organism and its sensitivities.

抗生素药敏试验 (AST) 是测定细菌对抗生素敏感性的方法。自从发现β-内酰胺抗生素青霉素以来，就需要进行抗生素敏感性测试。它的结果可以让临床医生将抗生素的选择从经验疗法(即根据临床对感染部位和常见致病菌的怀疑选择抗生素) 改变为定向疗法(即基于对生物体及其敏感性的了解选择抗生素)。
