The DENND1A protein is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that coordinates clathrin-mediated endocytosis through activation of RAB35. It catalyzes the conversion of inactive GDP-bound RAB35 into its active GTP-bound state, regulating synaptic vesicle dynamics and other processes.
