These pathways may involve G-protein interactions, contributing to polarity information transmission during tissue morphogenesis. Notably, FZD2 acts as a receptor for C. difficile toxin TcdB in the colonic epithelium, occupying the Wnt-adducted palmitoleate binding site, preventing downstream Wnt signaling.
