Acts upstream of or within several processes, including macrophage chemotaxis; microglial cell activation involved in immune response; and negative regulation of extrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway in absence of ligand. Located in cell surface. Is expressed in several structures, including colon; genitourinary system; and liver. Used to study age related macular degeneration 12.
