Norrin protein is a key component of the canonical Wnt signaling pathway, activating the cascade by interacting with the FZD4 receptor and LRP5 coreceptor. Its role in retinal vascularization includes serving as a FZD4 ligand, stabilizing β-catenin (CTNNB1), and initiating LEF/TCF-mediated transcription.
