The ZFAND5 protein is a key player in protein degradation by the ubiquitin-proteasome system and serves as a potential anchor for ubiquitinated proteins, promoting their proteasomal targeting. It regulates NF-kappa-B activation and apoptosis by inhibiting NF-kappa-B activation induced by various stimuli, including RIPK1 and TRAF6 overexpression.
