Sarafotoxin S6d (STX-b) is a polypeptide toxin isolated from the venom of the Israeli sand boa constrictor. Sarafotoxin S6d induces multiple electrocardiogram (ECG) changes including myocardial ischemia and hyperkalemia. Sarafotoxin S6d induces strong extracellular calcium-dependent vasoconstriction in rat aorta and exhibits positive inotropic effects in rat atria. Sarafotoxin S6d can be used in the study of cardiovascular diseases[1].

(In Vivo)

Sarafotoxin S6d (0.3、1.0、3.0 和 5.0 nmol/kg；静脉注射) 在 0.3-3.0 nmol/kg 时可产生恒定压力效应和短暂的脉压升高。然而，在 5.0 nmol/kg 时，Sarafotoxin S6d 可在最初升高后导致血压、心率和呼吸频率迅速下降，导致大多数小鼠在 10 分钟内死亡[1]。
