Involved in several processes, including male gonad development; neuron projection development; and positive regulation of peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation. Used to study Parkinsonism. Biomarker of Parkinsonism; brain ischemia; and sciatic neuropathy. Orthologous to human GFRA1 (GDNF family receptor alpha 1).
