(7-Methoxy-2-oxo-2H-chromen-4-yl)-acetic acid-d₆  (Synonyms: 5-(Dimethyl-d6-amino)-N-(prop-2-ynyl)naphthalene-1-sulfonamide)

(7-Methoxy-2-oxo-2H-chromen-4-yl)-acetic acid-d₆ is the deuterium labeled MCA[1]. MCA is a coumarin derivative. MCA quantitates platelet-activating factor by high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescent detection. MCA can modify FRET peptide substrates for analyzing protease activities[2][3]. (7-Methoxy-2-oxo-2H-chromen-4-yl)-acetic acid-d6 is a click chemistry reagent, it contains an Alkyne group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc) with molecules containing Azide groups.

Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs^[1].
