INPP1 protein, also known as inositol polyphosphate-1-phosphatase, is a phosphatase that plays a crucial role in inositol phosphate metabolism. The activity of this protein depends on magnesium ions and is responsible for catalyzing the hydrolysis of the phosphate group at position 1 of inositol 1,4-bisphosphate and inositol 1,3,4-trisphosphate.
