Light Scattering Techniques use dynamic and static laser light scattering to detect the size, shape, and structure of biological macromolecules or their assemblies. In the experiment, a light beam is focused in an optically transparent cylindrical sample cell, where most of the light passes directly through the sample while a small portion is scattered. The intensity and angle of the scattered light provide detailed information about the particles. This technique has wide applications in protein science, polymer chemistry, and biomedical research.
